DROGHEDA ROUTE

Postby Luce » Fri Jul 04, 2008 1:27 pm

I know that I couldn't find anything when I looked about the route in Drogheda so I've typed out the route that I was taken on for anybody interested in one of the Drogheda routes:

- Out of test centre, turning right.
-Turn left into first estate (Cedarfield), to do reverse around the corner.
-Come out of the estate, turn left going straight down the Donore Road
-Stop at lights at bottom beside bus station
-Turned right at lights, staying in the left lane, heading towards Dublin on the Dublin Road.
-Had to filter in to merging lane at Scotch Hall (shopping centre) lights.
-Carry on past the train station, going under the little railway bridge.
-At the next lights, I had to wait at Box junction and turn right into Bryanstown area
-Go straight over the roundabout
-At next right, turned right (running parallel with cemetary)
-Then turned at the next left into estate (MeadowView) drove through the estate.
-Came to stop sign and turned right
-Came to another stop sign and had to turn left on to main road ..and then had to turn immediately right into estate (Rosevale)
-Did turn-about in there (and had a drink of water!)
-Came out and turned left onto main road
-Stopped before bridge.
-Came to Pheasant Pub junction and turned left onto the Duleek Road at Stop sign
-Passed John's Shop (Centra) and went under bridge.
-Straight out heading for M1, took 3rd exit off 1st roundabout,
-Passing the back of the retail park on my right. (Homebase, Argos, etc) Speed is 80km
-Came to next roundabout, took 2nd exit but have to treat it like a 3rd exit (funny roundabout)
-Came to final roundabout for entrance to retail park (Same as above)
-Off the roundabout, taking the next left into test centre road...
-The end!!

For the last few days, I've been glued to this forum, reading all the tips and about people passing. I definitely thought I wouldn't be one of them but its happened! And on Independance Day!! Thank you for all the great advice.
All the very best to anyone who think they'll never do it..that was me too but keep trying and take rescue remedy!!

Hi,

You do know that if your licence has expired by more than 5 years you must start from scratch again, that is, must do theory test again ??

there is now a sign up before this saying "left lane for scotch hall only" but after this sign it is quite difficult to megre with the right lane before the traffic lights for scotch hall. so should i change lanes before hand or go past and merge as the road is marked even though there is a sign contradicting the road markings??
:dontknow:
